The Jersey shore has so much to offer, more than just the amazing beach, exquisite dining and plenty of attractions for the entire family to enjoy. If you are a current Jersey Shore resident or are just visiting for the weekend, here are five of the best things to do at the Jersey Shore.
- Asbury Park
Asbury Park offers an all-encompassing experience of the Jersey Shore. There are countless restaurants, bars, and music venues right by the beach. Stroll along the boardwalk, enjoy some tasty ice cream, get your palm read and feast on a fantastic dinner from one of the eateries in Asbury Park.
Top Restaurants in Asbury Park:
- Festhalle Biergarten Rooftop Bar
- The Stone Pony
- The Wonder Bar (very dog-friendly)
Located along the infamous Jenkinson Boardwalk, Jenkinson’s Aquarium is a great spot for family fun. You can watch the penguins, turtles, stingrays, and plenty of other species of fish. Be sure to stop by Hoffman’s Ice Cream and indulge in the many tasty unusual and signature flavors they offer after you leave Jenkinson’s Aquarium.
One of the best places in the world to get seafood is off the Jersey Shore. While I may be biased, I do know that people travel to the Jersey Shore specifically to eat at the seafood restaurants in the area, so they must be doing something right. Below are a few of the best spots for seafood in the Jersey Shore:
- Red’s Lobster Pot Restaurant
- Charlies of Bay Head
- Mr. Shrimp Seafood Restaurant & Market
- The Shrimp Box & Outside the Box Patio Bar
Mantoloking Beach is a private beach that you can go to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the ocean and see some of the most luxurious houses on the Jersey Shore. The homes are right by the beach looking over the Atlantic Ocean. The day pass is $10 per person. This is a great place to get away and enjoy the peace and calm of the ocean.
Cape May has incredible high-end dining and plenty of charming inns. Union Park and Tisha’s are two hotspots for fine dining in the area. This area is perfect for date nights and for those who want to admire the Victorian architecture featured throughout Cape May.
